"SeaTown Get Down!"

SeaTown Get Down!

"SeaTown Get Down!"

That was the chant he started back then
Back in December of 20Eleven

SeaTown Get Down!

He commanded us to jam like we were part of the band
He demanded we dance, clap & wave our hands

SeaTown Get Down!

That was the summary of the night
He came to town for one day and tore it up until the morning light

SeaTown Get Down!

The party started in Tacoma under the packed T-Dome
He took it to Seattle & no one wanted to go home!

SeaTown Got Down Alright!
And we're about to do it one mo' 'gin
This time it's gonna b with 3rdEyeGirl & their familiar Purple Friend!

"Oh Well... Here We R Again..."

Welcome (Again) to my humble a... Blog. :)

I have decided to revisit this blogging thing. As you can see, after my introduction a little over a year ago, I seemed to have abandoned this. My bad. lol

Well I'm back! And with many ideas flowing through my head. I'm here to share those with you and share some creativity and artistic thangs with y'all. As most of you who will visit this may know, I like to draw, I'm an aspiring photographer and video producer, and I'm making an attempt to be more musical. We'll see how that goes.

So since this is a second intro, in a way, I'd like to invite everyone to check out my business page on facebook: www.facebook.com/purplestyleproductions. This is where I have some of my photography work posted. I'll be working on more projects that I'll keep everyone up to date on both here and there.

I don't have just one focus for this blog. Like I said, it's all about art and creativity. So anytime I have something of my own to share, I'll come here to do so. Also, if there's been something inspiring to me, I'll likely write about it here. Again, most of you viewing this know my love for Prince and his music. SO... There'll be a lot of that here. Deal wit it! ;)

Introduction

Well Hello!

Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Dorothy. Most of you viewing this already know that. If any of you ever forget, you can refer back to this post for a friendly reminder. :)

Here's a little about me to get us started, in case you missed details along the way of whatever relationship we are to each other. If you care to know, learn, refresh your memory, keep reading...
  • I just turned 30. *shudders* Remember when 30 seemed so far away? :\
  • I am a proud graduate of the University of Washington. Go Dawgs!
  • My degree is a Bachelors of Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences. That's a fancy way of saying Liberal Studies. I focused on Mass Communications (and more specifically, video production).
  • I am also Certified in Audio Production through UW.
  • After all that fancy accreditation, one question comes to your mind: "What do you do?" ... My answer: "A whole lotta nothing." Funny how that works out, ain't it?
  • For the 6 years following my BA I worked at Borders Books & Music. As we all know, the company filed for bankruptcy last year, and after no one came to their rescue, they unfortunately went under and closed all of their stores. The store I worked for closed it's doors on May 15, 2011.
  • I am not totally unemployed, however. I am a care provider for Emanuel, my 17 year old nephew who has a slight case of Cerebral Palsy. So I help him out and that helps me out. Nice lil exchange for a broke UW Alumnus. :\
Let's see... what else can I tell you that you already know?
  • I like Prince. Yup.  I love music, he's my dude tho. I grew up on MJ and discovered Prince when I was around 14. Oh so many experiences I have had since then. Good times, indeed.
  • Oh yeah, I'm single. I've never been married and have no kids. So head's up! I'm sure there will be a hand full of posts here about the "joy" of dating and "beauty" in the search for the right man. (Note sarcasm.)
  • Lastly (but not the least), I have met and befriended quite a few people via this thing called the internet. Some I have not yet seen face to face, yet feel as though they are some of my closest friends.  Most of these folks are fellow Prince fans I initially started talking with on his website (when it existed).  Point?  Those folks are probably the ones reading this.  So... HEY Y'ALL! :)
All of that isn't all there is to me. Feel free to comment and ask anything you wanna know. This will be the "Get to know me" part of my brand new blogging experience.

So, here I am, blogging. I have plenty material in my brain. Let's see how it all spills out on this here blog, shall we? :)
