Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Dorothy. Most of you viewing this already know that. If any of you ever forget, you can refer back to this post for a friendly reminder. :)
Here's a little about me to get us started, in case you missed details along the way of whatever relationship we are to each other. If you care to know, learn, refresh your memory, keep reading...
- I just turned 30. *shudders* Remember when 30 seemed so far away? :\
- I am a proud graduate of the University of Washington. Go Dawgs!
- My degree is a Bachelors of Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences. That's a fancy way of saying Liberal Studies. I focused on Mass Communications (and more specifically, video production).
- I am also Certified in Audio Production through UW.
- After all that fancy accreditation, one question comes to your mind: "What do you do?" ... My answer: "A whole lotta nothing." Funny how that works out, ain't it?
- For the 6 years following my BA I worked at Borders Books & Music. As we all know, the company filed for bankruptcy last year, and after no one came to their rescue, they unfortunately went under and closed all of their stores. The store I worked for closed it's doors on May 15, 2011.
- I am not totally unemployed, however. I am a care provider for Emanuel, my 17 year old nephew who has a slight case of Cerebral Palsy. So I help him out and that helps me out. Nice lil exchange for a broke UW Alumnus. :\
- I like Prince. Yup. I love music, he's my dude tho. I grew up on MJ and discovered Prince when I was around 14. Oh so many experiences I have had since then. Good times, indeed.
- Oh yeah, I'm single. I've never been married and have no kids. So head's up! I'm sure there will be a hand full of posts here about the "joy" of dating and "beauty" in the search for the right man. (Note sarcasm.)
- Lastly (but not the least), I have met and befriended quite a few people via this thing called the internet. Some I have not yet seen face to face, yet feel as though they are some of my closest friends. Most of these folks are fellow Prince fans I initially started talking with on his website (when it existed). Point? Those folks are probably the ones reading this. So... HEY Y'ALL! :)
All of that isn't all there is to me. Feel free to comment and ask anything you wanna know. This will be the "Get to know me" part of my brand new blogging experience.
So, here I am, blogging. I have plenty material in my brain. Let's see how it all spills out on this here blog, shall we? :)
